Additional Information
GEORGE ALBERT HADLEY joined the Queen's Own Rifles, Canadian Infantry Corps, in June 1940. His brother Jack Hadley also joined up at the same time. They trained and served with the Queen's Own Rifles in Newfoundland and New Brunswick in Canada, England, United Kingdom and in Normandy France. GEORGE ALBERT HADLEY was killed in a 'Blue on Blue' (so called 'friendly fire') incident, when his patrol was accidentally fired upon by other Canadian troops.1
He had 1 son, John Hadley who was born on 18th May 1944.
Data from the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, states his age as 26. An obituary taken from a Toronto newspaper in 1944 (see below) states his age as 21.
