Additional Information

Captain The Reverend Walter Leslie Brown, Bachelor of Arts (BA), Licentiate in Theology (LTh), was an Almumnus Huron. He is the only known allied chaplain known to be executed by the enemy during the Second World War. He landed on JUNO Beach but was captured on the 6th June and was summarily executed by the members of the 12 SS (Hitlerjugend) Panzer Division. The communion kit he used during the war was discovered after the war and was donated to Huron College.1
