Trooper WILLIAM HARPER was severly burned at Cheux, Calavados, Normandy on Tuesday the 27th Jun 1944. He was evacuated back to the United Kingdom, but succumbed to his wounds and he died in Leeds, Yorkshire, England, United Kingdom, on Wednesday the 5th July 1944, aged 30.

 

He is now buried in Kendal (Parkside) Cemetery, Westmoorland, England, United Kingdom.1 His widow Edith, never remarried.
