Commonwealth War Graves Commission records state that The Reverend GEORGE ALEXANDER HARRIS died on Wednesday 7th June 1944. However, an eyewitness account by Tom O'Connell, states that he was killed on the morning of Tuesday 6th June 1944, as a result of his parachute failing when it became intangled with the parachute of another paratrooper.
