RICHARD DOUGLAS DAVIDSON signed is attestation papers on the 13th September 1939 at Windsor, Ontario, Canada, with the Essex Scottish Regiment. He was 5 feet, 9 inches tall, dark brown hair with blue eyes. Prior to the war he lived in Tilbury, Ontario and was employed as a truck driver. He married, while overseas, Ellen Olsen on the 21st August 1941.

 

Private RICHARD DOUGLAS DAVIDSON was killed on the 19th August 1942 during Operation JUBILEE and the raid on Dieppe, Normandy France. He was buried at Des Vertus, Hautot-sur-Mer, Normandy, France in grave 633.1
