Surviving nephew of L/Cpl Keenan - RIP
Four generation have come and passed since your generation litter the French country side with white cross. Your cross stood out to me as a child from my mother fireside wall- haunting me with the reality that something terrible had happened to you.Mum spoke of life, leaving me with fond memories of a hero who fell and lies in foreign fields. Rupert Broke wrote in his poem: "The Solider" ...." If I should die think this only of me that in some corner of a foreign field is forever England. Well you died uncle and in that French field lies the precious dust of of the Isle of Skye.
You have never been forgotten,an uncle always spoken of whom I never had the chance to know. RIP with all your comrades and brothers and sisters.
RIP Young man, you will never be forgotten
The ultimate sacrifice by you and all the others in war fighting for our country is remembered with pride. Your sister Kathleen would often talk to us about you when we were growing up, which inspired me into the military tradition.
